Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My family and my community is my inspiration. Representation matters so immensely as a minority and I want to build a brand that’s representative of the roots I come from meanwhile laying a foundation for future generations of the Latino and LGBTQ+ community.

How do you stay motivated?

Running a business and staying true to your vision is difficult. But over time you see small wins that keep fueling your passion. For us, it was witnessing our community and clientele growing, the brand becoming recognizable in my city and county, winning top 3 burgers in SoCal two years running, and most importantly seeing the smiles on my customers faces when eating our fare, that is the biggest reward and motivator.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The hardest thing for my company that we have been facing is scaling. We are in this crossroad of being big enough to be recognized but we are still small and don’t have funding to jump to the next step. With the $25k I would use it to invest in a food truck so that we can get out of the elements and continue to offer our food to OC and beyond. Our current set up is a 10x10 tent, and when it rains, is windy, extreme heat or cold, it really challenges us in getting our food out effectively.
