Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration is my son Mekhi and families like ours. As an autism mom, I’ve seen how often children with special needs are left out of community spaces. That experience pushed me to build what I wish existed. Through We Got This Augusta, I’m creating inclusive events, resources, and support systems so children with autism and other disabilities feel celebrated, not accommodated.

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation comes from purpose and faith. Building a nonprofit while raising a neurodiverse child isn’t easy, but every time a parent tells me their child felt included for the first time, it reminds me why this work matters. Prayer keeps me grounded, and our community keeps me going. I know the work we’re doing is bigger than me. It’s about building a more inclusive future for our children.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The $25,000 would allow We Got This Augusta to expand sensory-friendly community events and launch programs that support children with autism and special needs. Funding would help us provide inclusive activities, sensory equipment, and resources for families who often feel overlooked. It would also strengthen our foundation so we can grow sustainable programs that remove barriers and create spaces where every child feels seen, supported, and included.
