Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration is Walt Disney. Teachers told him he was stupid for falling asleep in class, because he was working his dad’s paper route before school. His vision, talent, and hustle led to early success, only to lose Oswald The Rabbit; he came back with Mickey Mouse, pioneering animation in film. Later, with his studio in debt and his brother convincing him to stop, he fought to complete Cinderella; his conviction provided the windfall to stay open, build Disneyland, and cement his legacy

How do you stay motivated?

Entrepreneurship is tiring, difficult, and lonely. You have to find whatever you can to dig deep, dust yourself off, and pick up your sword for the next battle. But it’s that toughness that sets us apart. For me: there’s seeing our impact first-hand, the support of both my amazing co-founder and my wife, & thinking of my daughter’s future. What would you do with the $25,000?

We have identified a knowledge gap with non-profit founders: less likely to come from business backgrounds + less money for crucial consulting because they are starting with impact, not profit. We provide free advice to as many young founders as we can - all the learnings and advice since founding in 2011 - but we have limited capacity running our own organization. I’d put this money directly into piloting an official bootcamp for non-profit founders specifically, which is lacking, and nee
