Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Social Work has been my life's work. When I think about mental health, the BIPOC community is drastically underserved in part due to limited access to services, mental health stigma, and lets be honest typically when we seek professional help we rarely see someone that's looks like us. Now, when I open the door and greet a client, I see a big smile. That smile represents the first step in breaking down barriers to helping them navigate past trauma. They see me as a safe space!!

How do you stay motivated?

I am motivated daily by my clients showing up in the room because that takes courage. That means we as a community are one step closer to breaking generational trauma and becoming better for ourselves and our family. There is no greater feeling than a client saying they should have come to therapy sooner. That lets me know the work is being done!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I will be pouring back into the community. My goal is to create a healing center that provides individual and group therapy on a large scale. Provide mentorship and training to rising social workers; removing the stereotype that all we do is take children out of their homes. As far as I am concerned, SOCIAL WORKERS ARE HEALERS OF THE WORLD!
