Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from my lived experience in foster care and the young people I serve every day. I’m driven by the gaps I faced—lack of stability, guidance, and opportunity—and the resilience I see in youth aging out of the system. I’m also inspired by purpose-driven entrepreneurs who use business as a force for good, showing me that impact and income can coexist to create lasting, community-centered change.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by remembering why I started. My lived experience and the young people transitioning out of foster care remind me that this work is bigger than me. When things get hard, I focus on the impact—creating opportunities, stability, and community for others. Knowing that The Foster Bean can change someone’s path keeps me pushing forward.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest the $25,000 into launching The Foster Bean’s mobile coffee trailer by securing essential equipment at reduced cost, including a commercial espresso machine, generator, and build-out materials. With Tiny Timbers donating labor, funds will also cover permits, supplies, and startup operations—allowing us to immediately begin providing paid job training, mentorship, and wraparound support for young adults transitioning out of foster care.
