Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration is my five children. I grew up extremely poor. Therefore, I want to use my gift of cooking that I have learned from growing up to make a generational contribution to help make their future better. On the other hand, I have this passion for authentic Jamaican jerk chicken. As a child I would pick up bottles to sell and save to buy jerk chicken and jerk pork on the weekend. I use to look forward to the spice and the flavor of the jerk chicken with ketchup and hard dough bread.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated because I have a 4 year old son Joshua, that love playing restaurant . All he talks about is restaurant and always wants to cook. He would say , dad let’s play chef, I want to cook for you. That warms my heart and soul every time. Sometimes, the way my son love to play restaurant makes me cry silently on the inside. But yet I feel proud to know that he loves cooking so much. I say , Joshua youre going to be the greatest lawyer when you grow up. And his response no a chef

What would you do with the $25,000?

$25000 to build out a kitchen. I already have all the equipment. $10,000 towards the fire suppression system installed. $2,000 towards plumbing which would include installing a 3 compartment sink and 2 hand wash sink. I am planning on buying the sinks used in the next restaurant auction on 3/26.I found a location where the rent is $2100, so I would pay 3 months rent and ask for 3 months for renovation. The balance would be use towards permits and drawings and stocks for opening with the $6700
