Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I’m responding to the growing climate crisis and mental‑health and wellness demand by designing healing landscapes that provide serene environments where people can heal their body and mind through therapeutic horticulture and nature‑based therapies. Rooted in Afrofuturism, my practice leans on Afrocentric values and ancestral wisdom to move towards social change and design places that support community wellbeing and ecologically sustainable futures.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated because I have witnessed the way landscapes designed for wellbeing solve the increasing mental health issues that people face living in cities. With increasing demand for ecotourism and wellness tourism, I am driven by designing landscapes that give people authentic nature-based experiences and the opportunity to reconnect to the land. My vision is to design tea gardens in self-sustaining ecosystem holistic healing environments.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Too many communities lack access to restorative wellness spaces. The Tea Garden Retreat will change that by combining herbal healing gardens, glamping, spa, and creative arts into a destination that makes holistic wellness accessible. I'd invest the $25,000 to move from vision to investor-ready: securing a land option reserve ($11,000), feasibility study & schematic design ($5,000), brand development, marketing and fundraising launch ($8,000), and a $1,000 contingency to stay agile.
