Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I take a different approach to the boutique business in comparison to the many others in my field. It is not my desire to be like everyone else. My goal in business is to keep retail relevant in rural and my brand mission revolves around women’s safety. The Lioness concept started when I noted a gap in the industry. I wanted to create a better option for women to carry themselves in a more secure and confident manner. My husband and his family are also a source of inspiration.

How do you stay motivated?

Staying motivated is hard. I feel very rewarded when I hear positive feedback from others. I appreciate constructive conversations, compliments and the encouragement from my customers. I give myself small challenges and set goals that are obtainable in my business endeavors. I take breaks as needed to avoid burn out. Getting enough rest and regular self care is part of my routine. Networking and travel allow me the opportunity to meet new people and continuously learn and grow.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to receive $25,000 I would continue to pursue my original dream of developing the Lioness clothing line. I would use the experience to advance my personal brand past research and development and hopefully start the production phase of Lioness clothing.
