Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

After dealing with and being blindsided by a very traumatic divorce at the age of 61, I drifted into a state of depression trying to understand the betrayal. I escaped stress through puzzles, journaling, therapy sessions and abstract painting. I found peace and solace in painting.People started asking me to share my secret of peaceful therapy. After a while, my "Art for the Heart" program was born. The rest is history!

How do you stay motivated?

Knowing that I have motivated over 340 people to let the paint colors speak for their emotions is what motivates me to keep going. As I travel up and down the East Coast, setting up in parks, cafes, and private venues, I have met people who have learned to release, relax and rejuvenate as they learn about themselves. I am learning to counsel, create and connect with others through painting and splashing our feelings onto canvas.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000.00 as shown in my annual budget. Venue Rental (including utilities) $12,000.00 Supplies (Canvases, Acrylic and Watercolor Paints, Brushes, sterilizing solutions, aprons, journals, colored pencils, PlayDoh, paper, easels, pastels, palettes, cleaning towels) $1500.00. Marketing and Promotional Equipment (Printing paper, ink, flyer distribution) $500.00 Staff Salary (2 PT) $10,000.00 Insurance $1000.00
