Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

First, my 3 grandsons are my biggest inspiration. I want to be a positive role model and show them what’s possible through hard work, integrity, and dedication. I love involving them in small ways so they can see that building something meaningful takes pride and perseverance. I’m also inspired by building a business in the community that lasts—one rooted in quality, trust, and creating opportunities for others, while encouraging more women into the construction industry.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by remembering why & where I started. I want to build something I'm proud of for my family, my crew & the clients we serve. I also believe in leading myself first. Taking care of my health through exercise, nutrition & managing stress helps me stay grounded so the challenges of entrepreneurship don’t consume me. Over time I’ve learned those challenges are actually opportunities to learn, grow & keep improving the business I’m building.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Part would be invested in business development & systems that help streamline operations & improve my client experience. Giving back is important to me as well - I would donate a portion to Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting & protecting abused children. Finally, I'd sponsor a leader to go through The Fitness Project's flagship leadership program for burnt out business owners.
