Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Our mission is to grow seeds in soils and minds to nourish the bodies, skins, souls, and soils. Growing the community, gardens, nutrition, and wellness. My business is inspired to help fill the gaps that lie between agriculture and human health. As a public health professional, I saw a need for farming and health to grow together. Urban agriculture has the opportunity to positively impact health, reduce food waste, create better soil health, and build community resiliency and connectedness.

How do you stay motivated?

My passion to positively change the world fuels me, one plant at a time. Urban agriculture has the potential to feed 30% of the urban population globally while benefiting the environment, helping local economies by shortening the food supply chain, reducing food waste, reusing resources, creating green spaces, benefiting mental and physical health, increasing social equity and interactions, reducing food insecurity and food deserts, and increasing food consciousness and biodiversity.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win, I plan to use the money toward start-up costs and expand online & in-person education. It would help to facilitate the structure to allow for expansion. I see hungry communities looking for change, nature, and green spaces in cities. I want to feed them knowledge and give them tools to facilitate green spaces with healthier foods, people, soils, and waste reduction that help communities as well as ecosystems. I want to build healthier soils, people, and communities with knowledge.
