Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My biggest inspirations in business are my family, my faith, and the next generation. Seeing my kids live their purpose is a reminder of why I do what I do in building businesses. Golf is a tremendous way to teach kids discipline, grit, and leadership. I hire high school kids in my business and invest in young people in my facility. I think business is not just about making money; it’s about building people and helping shape the leaders of tomorrow.

How do you stay motivated?

My family, as well as my faith, is what drives me forward. As a father of seven and an entrepreneur, I know that people are watching how I respond to adversity. Having gone through difficult times, such as my son’s battle with cancer, has taught me that being resilient is a choice. What drives my motivation is the fact that I am creating something important, leading by example, and showing people that adversity is what drives purpose.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Like many entrepreneurs, I took a tremendous personal risk to create something important from scratch. Winning the $25,000 will help alleviate some of the financial burdens and continue to strengthen the foundation of Short Game. This will enable me to continue to focus on growing programs for families and junior golfers, increase our reach and scope, and continue to build a venue where people can learn, compete, and grow together.
