Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I found my creative culinary niche after trying Haitian food for the first time, 15 years ago. I fell in love with griot, djon djon and macaroni au gratinée. Since then, I have developed an extensive Caribbean Soulfood menu influenced by the profound women of various cultures in my life. These women are who ground, influence and inspire me. From Curacao to Jamaica and Haiti. I have learned how to be a mother, chef and entrepreneur from my village.

How do you stay motivated?

My three children motivate me! Everything I do is for them and to better them. I want to create a great legacy and generational wealth in abundance. My oldest child attends almost all my events and is a wonderful sous chef in training. They are the motivation, the reason and the drive behind the brand.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Invest in my first food truck, and mobile sweet treat bar. I want to bring my puddings, tropical punches and pancake donut bars beyond Long Island! I currently load everything in my Jeep and set up tables/tents at my booked events. I would love to have an official food truck and mobile cart to elevate my company and brand.
