Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Montana is known for its brutal winters and inconsistent weather. This leads to youth and adult sports having very short seasons. I myself love baseball and softball, but when I was playing recreation slowpitch softball in my 20's, noticed how difficult it was to practice alone or when the weather didn't allow field access. This lack of access to resources made a huge impression on me. I made it my mission to build a facility where everyone can practice all year long, regardless of skill level.

How do you stay motivated?

I am deeply inspired by the individuals and families who have said The Cage has made a difference in their or their child's game. This is not just a place for athletes, but also a resource for anyone seeking a healthy, affordable way to get out of the house and play. Seeing someone completely new to baseball or softball walk through the door and leave with a smile and newfound confidence fills me with pride. The desire to build this business to be its best for the community keeps me motivated.

What would you do with the $25,000?

We are growing! I would use the $25,000 to offset some of the costs of the outdoor batting cages we will be building this spring/summer. We currently only offer indoor batting cages. With this extension, we will be doubling our footprint. These new batting cages will offer additional outdoor practice space during late spring, summer, and fall, other than the ball fields. These cages will be taller and wider than what we are able to provide in our current indoor facility.
