My inspiration is the African woman — resilient, creative, and endlessly resourceful. Watching my artisans transform fabric into art reminds me why ethical business matters. Daymond John showed me that culture can be currency. My Congolese heritage taught me that beauty has power. Every collection I design honors both. I build KAHINDO for every woman told her craft wasn't valuable enough — and to prove that doing good and building wealth are never mutually exclusive

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation lives in the women whose hands craft every KAHINDO piece. When I feel the weight of building a business, I remember I'm not just designing clothes — I'm creating livelihoods. My Congolese heritage reminds me that purpose is inherited and passed forward. Every obstacle is just proof I'm building something worth fighting for. Fashion that looks good, feels good, and does good — that's why I show up

The $25,000 breaks down strategically: $8,000 building bridal occasionwear inventory; $8,000 in targeted paid ads driving direct sales; $6,000 ensuring our African artisans receive fair, dignified wages; $3,000 activating bridal trade shows to reach brides, bridesmaids, and mothers of the bride.
