Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

Dogs might be the only coaches who improve your fitness, social life, and mood at the same time. My rescue dog Bruno inspired me to build the kind of community I wish existed: one that makes it easier to stay active, meet like-minded people, and feel supported in living a healthier life. I’m inspired by the idea that we don’t have to choose between time with our dogs and time investing in our wellbeing. We can design spaces that support both.

How do you stay motivated?

Like many dog owners, I know how much easier it is to stay consistent when someone is counting on you. Having a livestock guardian dog in the city demands an active, outdoor lifestyle. This keeps me accountable even on low-motivation days, but community strengthens that accountability even more. When people feel supported, welcomed, and included, they show up. Knowing others are also looking for connection, structure, and more dog-friendly spaces keeps me motivated to continue building.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the funding to expand access to dog-friendly wellness opportunities and make it easier for people to stay consistent in their health journey without leaving their dogs behind. This includes more community events, improving infrastructure, and partnering with wellness spaces that want to become more dog-inclusive. There is a demand for environments where people feel supported in prioritizing both their wellbeing, and that includes doing more life with their dogs. www.muttsandbutts.ca
