What is Entrepreneur of Impact?
Learn MoreMy biggest inspiration came from attending entrepreneurship programs like the NSLC Business & Entrepreneurship program at Yale, the Young Leaders Summit at Princeton, and the Nalukai Startup Camp on Oʻahu. Being surrounded by ambitious young founders and mentors showed me that business can be creative, impactful, and purpose-driven. Those experiences gave me the confidence to start and grow my own brand, Moontide Maui.
How do you stay motivated?I stay motivated by thinking about the future I want to build. I want to create opportunities for myself, support my family, and build a sustainable life in Hawai‘i while making a positive impact on my community. Social media has also been motivating. Growing to over 1,400 followers and reaching 500,000 views on a video showed me that people genuinely connect with my work and my story.
What would you do with the $25,000?With these funds, I would be able to purchase the machinery to turn Hawai'i's marine debris into jewelry with marine animals & Hawai'i shells as the inspiration. I would also be able to start my own storefront on Oahu instead of doing three heavy labor pop-up booths each weekend.
