Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I’m inspired by the communities I serve and the stories people carry but rarely get space to express. My work is shaped by my own lived experiences, my sons, and the young people who remind me why safe, creative, culturally grounded spaces matter. I’m motivated by the belief that healing, identity, and opportunity should be accessible to everyone.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by the impact I see in real time—youth finding language for their emotions, families feeling supported, and communities growing stronger. I remind myself that I’m building something bigger than me. Even on hard days, purpose, consistency, and the people who believe in this work keep me moving forward.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to expand Closed Spaces Inc. by developing new youth programs, strengthening our curriculum library, and increasing our reach across Memphis and North Mississippi. Funding would support materials, production, community workshops, and building the foundation for a dedicated creative and teaching space.
