Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from my journey and the communities that supported me. After serving 14 years in prison, I returned home determined to rebuild my life. When I faced barriers to employment due to my record, I used part of my $221 monthly General Relief to purchase business cards and supplies to start Reddy To Clean. That same resilience now fuels Reddy To Care, where I work to uplift and create opportunities for underserved communities.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay grounded through faith, community, and intentional self-care. I regularly attend church and lean on my church sisters and women mentors for guidance and support. I find balance through hiking, Pilates, meditation, jazz, and travel. Most importantly, I remain connected to the communities that shaped me. Remembering my journey and who I serve keeps me humble, focused, and driven by purpose rather than challenges.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest about $10,000 to formally establish Reddy To Care, covering nonprofit registration, legal setup, a website, and program materials. I would apply $8,000 toward my student loan debt as I begin my MSW program. The remaining $7,000 would strengthen Reddy To Clean by purchasing eco-friendly cleaning supplies, updated marketing materials, and outreach tools to grow the business and expand community impact.
