Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I'm inspired by the children, families, and communities that I serve. Their potential and knowledge reminds me that business is not just about the profit, but the positive impact I make on their lives. Also, I'm inspired by my fellow educators, advocators, innovators, creatives, and entrepreneurs. The one's who challenge systems and create access, opportunities, equity, and resources. My work is rooted in building a legacy that lasts beyond me, of opportunity, empowerment, and transformation.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by keeping my "why" front and center. When things get tough and challenges arise, I remember my students need me. They also need spaces that support, nourish, and affirm them. I also break big goals into small wins and surround myself with a strong and positive support system who gracefully push me forward and affirm me in the more challenging times. I believe in progress not perfection and that "slow and steady wins the race”.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 as a strategic foundation to move Dream Builders Learning Center toward a dedicated space and expanded programming. A portion would go toward securing and preparing a physical location that I own, while the rest would support hiring the enrichment specialists in areas such as, computer science, art, music, P.E., and financial literacy. While, $25,000 wouldn't fully fund these goals, it would allow me to begin building the infratructure needed to grow sustainably.
