Horses & freedom of self-employment. Traditional training often forces beginners to practice on live horses, where mistakes in trimming angles, balance, or shoeing can cause discomfort, hoof imbalances, lameness, or musculoskeletal issues. My VR program changes that—it lets students master equine hoof and leg anatomy, biomechanics, prepares students with real understanding before with live horses reducing stress and injury risks for horses while making high-quality training accessible

How do you stay motivated?

What keeps me fired up is the bond with horses, the satisfaction of a perfect shoe set, and the freedom to innovate. Launching the VR training program allows me to share decades of experience so aspiring farriers can build deep knowledge of anatomy and techniques safely in virtual reality before ever touching a live horse. This means fewer beginner mistakes, less stress on horses during training, reduced injury risks, & better long-term hoof health & welfare

What would you do with the $25,000?

4I was born to shod horses , so I would fund the final development of the world's first VR Farrier training program at bennettandson.com. Students gain a strong foundational understanding of hoof anatomy, biomechanics. dramatically reducing injury risks to horses (from improper trimming or shoeing) and to farriers. By preparing better farriers from the start, we minimize stress on horses, prevent lameness and imbalances, and raise overall standards in equine welfare For future generations.
