Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

One of my biggest inspiration is VeeKee James, a very well known Nigerian fashion designer. Not only is she one of the greatest fashion designer, but she has her own ministry. She has inspired me to remain true to myself and not forget the true essence and meaning of life. A skill and a story is sometimes all one needs. It is my dream to one day be as aspirational as her so my skill and story can inspire and positively impact the lives of others.

How do you stay motivated?

In 2024 my mother got diagnosed with severe kidney failure. After years of bad health, finding out she has kidney failure was almost the final straw for her. I watched the strongest woman I know become so frail and weak. She lost almost everything due to her illness. I need to make her “Coming to America” story end well. Not only for her, but for my children. Making them proud is what motivates me to keep going.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would love to own my very own shop, where I not only make beautiful gowns, but where I can mentor young girls to follow their dreams regardless of age, social status or race. I would also start my own organization for girls and women. From supporting single mothers, widows, foster children; providing things such as sanitary supplies or just making them feel beautiful for a day. Every girl deserves to have their Cinderella moment. Who else can be a Fairy Godmother other than a dress maker?
