Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business comes from my own experience, my coaches, and now my kids. I grew up playing lacrosse as the only girl in a boys sport, and I had to work harder than everyone else to prove I belonged. That shaped my drive to create opportunities for the next generation, especially for girls. Today, I am motivated by building a safe, positive space where young athletes can learn, grow, and find joy in sport and recreation, while giving back to my community.

How do you stay motivated?

I never stop dreaming, and I never stop learning. I am always thinking about what I can build next and how I can make things better for the athletes and families in my community. Running a small business comes with challenges, but my motivation comes from creating opportunities that did not exist when I was growing up, especially for girls in lacrosse, but for all young athletes. Seeing kids succeed keeps me going every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest the $25,000 back into my facility to expand youth programming, improve training spaces, and make sports more accessible for everyone. My goal is to keep costs low so more people can participate, while continuing to grow opportunities for athletes in Manitoba, especially in women’s and underserved sports. I would also use the funding to expand our reach so more young athletes can find a place to train, learn, and feel like they belong.
