Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I started my production company out of necessity following a challenging hospital visit for a sickle cell crisis. My father and I recognized a lack of films offering a first-hand look at how this disease affects patients and the community. This void led me to officially launch my company in 2016 while still in high school. Since then, we have created several award-winning documentary and scripted films, dedicated to telling the stories that too often go untold.

How do you stay motivated?

My motivation is rooted in my "why": the conviction that storytelling is a catalyst for social change. With a unique voice and a specialized cinematic lens, I bridge the gap between overlooked experiences and public awareness. I am driven by the responsibility to use my skills to craft captivating narratives that do more than entertain—they humanize complex struggles, spark vital community dialogue, and leave a lasting, positive impact on every life they touch.

What would you do with the $25,000?

These funds will launch my first scripted feature, "MARSHA," exploring the developmental impact of age-gap relationships. My journey has been fueled by both self-funding and support from independent Black organizations. Regardless of the source, every dollar is directed "to picture." This grant ensures we maintain our track record of finishing what we start and bringing vital stories to life.
