Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My drive comes from my personal journey and my community. As an immigrant from Africa, I experienced how hair can impact confidence. Growing up, I once came to school with a shaved head—what I thought was a normal hairstyle quickly turned me into a laughing stock.I faced bullying because of my hairstyles. So I immediately learned how to do my own hair and later in life I depended on that skill to provide for myself and my child as a teen mom. That experience is what led me where I am Today

How do you stay motivated?

Knowing the growth I still want to achieve and the goals I’ve set for myself keeps me motivated. I started life young and faced many limitations because of mistakes I made early on. Hearing people count me out pushed me to work even harder to prove that my story isn’t finished. I strive every day to be better for myself and for others who may feel overlooked. I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Because I’m not where I want to be yet motivates me!

What would you do with the $25,000?

My beauty needs should not be an inconvenience—they are an essential part of our livelihood. My town currently has no beauty supply store. Although the minority population has grown over the years, access to products that support our daily beauty needs has not. Beauty stores often close too early, leaving late-night hair emergencies or last-minute trips without access to essential products,I will provide round-the-clock access to beauty supplies, putting control back in our hands
