Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My parents were my inspiration. They always pushed me to follow my dreams. Unfortunately, I lost my father, mother and my brother. We were such a close family & I miss them dearly. My brother & my dad were wonderful cooks and we all shared a love of food, experimenting with ingredients. I use some family recipes and love sharing them with customers, friends & family.

How do you stay motivated?

Thinking of my family looking down, I just want to make them proud. I am also very motivated by the people who work with me & customers who support my small business. People in general inspire me to do better everyday. In the last 16 years I have had the honour of working with extraordinary people & have met so many amazing people who have supported me through this journey.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest it in my business. I would purchase a new stove & other kitchen equipment. I would donate $5000 to the Port Arthur Curling Club which is a non-profit organization. The PACC is an incredible place where people can come and curl or watch curling, grab some grub & always feel welcome. I started here on the days my shop was closed as a bartender in the daytime and ended up helping them open their kitchen. I would do anything for the club and all its splendiferous members.
