Who or what is your inspiration in business?

I grew up in Colombia during difficult times, without a mentor and with limited resources. That experience shaped how I see the world. I learned early what it takes to move forward without guidance. When I came to the U.S. during the Great Recession, I learned the language and rebuilt from nothing. Early in my career, I saw the same pattern again: hardworking business owners making decisions without the support they needed. They are my inspiration and the reason I founded GemPeak Financial.

How do you stay motivated?

I am driven by focus and discipline. External factors do not deter me from working toward my goals. Growing up with limited resources taught me that limitations are not about what you lack but about discovering what you can do with very little. There is always a solution, always another way forward, and very often you have to be creative enough to bring the right opportunities to you. I sharpen my thinking through constant learning and find deep satisfaction in helping others reach their goals.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would launch a bilingual financial workshop series for underserved entrepreneurs. Many business owners have the drive to succeed but lack the financial guidance to build with confidence. Through practical training in English and Spanish, I want to help founders take control of their cash flow, ensure their financial story reflects the strength of what they have built, and position them to grow and create lasting impact in their families and communities.
