Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration is rooted in being terminated three times in a single year. Instead of seeing failure, I realized I was a builder trying to fit into a follower’s mold. Being pushed out of the corporate world was the ultimate catalyst. It forced me to harness my background in business development and arts administration to build my own table and found my company. Now, the quality of my local productions speaks for itself, shifting my career from self-promotion to receiving invitations.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by the desire to inspire and uplift artists who share my cross-cultural background. Launching a business is incredibly demanding, but knowing my work can create tangible impact keeps me driven. I also maintain my momentum by fiercely protecting my boundaries. When I am working, I am fully invested and relentlessly focused. But when I clock out, I prioritize rest and leisure, which sustains my creative energy and prevents burnout for the long haul.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This $25,000 would serve as crucial seed funding for my company’s inaugural Toronto Fringe production. It will guarantee fair artist fees—including my own as the lead creator—and cover essential production costs. More importantly, this funding transforms the show from a one-off performance into a sustainable touring asset. It will provide the financial runway needed to pitch and tour the work to Vancouver's Stand Festival, PQ 2027, and the Edinburgh Festival next year.
