Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration in business comes from both my life experiences and my faith.I have endured significant loss, the passing of my mother, a brother, and later my own diagnosis with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in July 2004. These experiences changed how I view life, health, and purpose. It taught me that the body is sacred and should be treated with care and intention. My inspiration is rooted in resilience, faith, and the desire to create products that remind women to honor themselves.

How do you stay motivated?

What I have already overcome and by staying committed to the vision I have for my business. There were times in my life when I did not know if I would make it through physically, emotionally, mentally. Losing loved ones and surviving cancer gave me a different perspective on life. It taught me discipline, patience, and how to keep going even when things are uncertain. MekaRoot Apothecary is not just about launching products. It is about honoring the life I was given another chance to live.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the funds strategically to build a strong foundation for MekaRoot Apothecary. Portion of the funding would go toward sourcing high-quality, cosmetic-grade ingredients to ensure product safety, consistency, and performance. I would also invest in professional packaging, including matte and amber glass bottles and retail-ready clear labels that reflect a luxury standard. product liability insurance and compliance requirements, all critical for entering the beauty industry responsibly.
