Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from the clients who trust me with their health—especially those with diabetes and medical conditions. After 30+ years, I’ve seen how overlooked foot care can impact overall wellness. I’m also inspired by Black women building legacy businesses despite limited resources. I’m building NailCandy1122 to bridge the gap between beauty and medical care—creating a wellness brand rooted in excellence, education, and faith.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by the impact of my work helping clients walk without pain and feel confident again. That purpose drives me, but I also lead with discipline. I set clear financial and impact goals, track progress monthly, and invest in continued education and mentorship. My faith keeps me grounded, and my daily habits keep my business moving forward.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest in advanced medical-grade equipment, including a podiatry chair and autoclave, to elevate safety and expand services for diabetic and immune-compromised clients. I would also hire and train support staff, strengthen marketing systems, and build business credit. This funding would accelerate my transition from a solo suite owner to a scalable, wellness-focused nail care brand with the potential for multiple locations.
