Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My greatest inspiration is the legacy of my late husband, who believed deeply in creativity, purpose, and building something meaningful. Black Beautiful & Brilliant was a vision we shared, and I now carry that vision forward for our children and our community. Through this brand, I celebrate the strength, beauty, and brilliance of Black women while honoring the legacy we began together.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by my children and the legacy I am building for them. This brand represents opportunity, resilience, and purpose for our future. I am also driven by the mission to uplift Black women and remind people of their brilliance. Even during difficult moments, I stay grounded in faith, community, and the belief that this work is bigger than me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This funding would help scale Black Beautiful & Brilliant from a growing brand into a sustainable business. I would invest in inventory production, marketing, and expanding my e-commerce platform to reach a wider audience. It would also allow me to participate in more community pop-up events and partnerships that celebrate and empower Black women while continuing to build a lasting legacy for my children. This is more than a clothing brand it’s a movement that celebrates identity.
