Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from 1. Having been raised by parents who were unable to provide the typical parenting that kids need, my mother dying unexpectedly when I was 14, my dad abandoning me after that, and 2. Being 7 months pregnant with my youngest child and having my 6-yo son diagnosed with cancer, and a spouse who disconnected from the whole situation.

How do you stay motivated?

It’s easy because I can so readily see into the hearts of the children whose parents I coach, and guide parents toward connecting deeply with them to help them feel seen, heard and felt. I often say that my upbringing is “fuel” for my work. It’s music to my ears when, after the first coaching session, a parent says, “I have hope now.”

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d invest some and donate some to a foster care organization. My heart is so with children who have been removed from their families. I have trained multiple coaches in the child welfare field to help prevent kids from being repeatedly moved away from their foster homes because of their behaviors, which are not intended to hurt others, but a cry for help.
