Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My biggest inspiration is my wife and co-founder, Audrey, who worked for Missouri’s Unemployment Labor Board and saw firsthand the desperation people faced during COVID. That, combined with the reality that millions of jobs may be displaced by AI, drives our mission. My time in college also showed me that many of society’s challenges stem from the socioeconomic divide, more than race, politics, or religion—so we’re focused on building bridges through education and access.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by the people I’ve helped and the many more I can reach. That’s why I returned to coaching even while building at a higher level—because impact matters. My goal is to create a business where success is shared, not hoarded: a company where everyone can earn and grow. Keeping people at the center, not just profit, is what drives me every day.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would invest the $25,000 into Rooted in the Town: Oakland, a project highlighting local businesses and culture. I believe innovation can come from anywhere, and Oakland deserves more visibility for its richness and resilience. The funds would support building a chatbot and platform to amplify these voices, with 100% of profits reinvested into the community to support small businesses and drive local redevelopment.
