Connect Who or what is your inspiration in business?

My inspiration comes from entrepreneurs who build something meaningful despite setbacks. I’m particularly drawn to people who treat business as a tool for opportunity, creating jobs, solving problems, and helping others move forward. The discipline of chess also influences how I view business: think several moves ahead, adapt to uncertainty, and stay calm under pressure.

How do you stay motivated?

I stay motivated by focusing on progress and long-term impact. In consulting and writing, I see firsthand how strategic guidance can change the trajectory of a person or business. I also approach goals the way I approach chess: break complex challenges into smaller decisions, stay disciplined, and keep improving. Consistent learning and helping others succeed keeps me energized.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the funds to grow my consulting and educational work while strengthening my community-based initiative, Business Beyond Bars. The investment would help create practical resources, workshops, and tools that support entrepreneurs especially those seeking a second chance in building sustainable businesses. It would also help expand digital marketing and advertising efforts so we can reach more people and provide accessible guidance for starting and growing successful ventures.
